We're often asked how, and why, we reach a point in our lives and actions where we can say 'This is what I do'. To say "I am a photographer" gives a hook to hang a hat on. But the only thing that substantiates that is the end result.
Under the whimsy and seeming artlessness must be focus and discipline. It may look effortless during the process and final result. It may even appear a disordered development. But if we don't understand the underpinnings, then we only get lucky - instead of exploiting all the possibilities that luck can bring us. But when we're prepared for what luck brings us, the satisfaction permeates all parts of the experience.
... and it helps to have a sense of humour! Because there will always be moments we can never prepare for. And sometimes those are the best moments.
