The question may have been What happens when the shutter of a camera is left open?

A study of light and luminous flux: crazed diagrams for building self-contained dark environments with condensing barriers, air vents, and masses of black gaffer tape. Notes on reciprocity and what B&W films could stand up to sixteen hours of exposure.
